Doctoral Programme

Students may enroll in the doctoral programme directly after B.Tech or after M.Tech. The objective of the programme is to promote the development of futuristic IT applications and patentable products, ideas, technologies. The institute intends to contribute to society through these highly qualified students, who have specialized in frontier areas of Information Technology. Research and development is now the focal point of the institute and our stress is on collaborative and interdisciplinary work. We introduce students to a research environment that contains facilities comparable to the best in the world

Admission Procedure : The students in their final year of qualifying examination may also apply for Ph.D. program provided they complete all formalities for award of their qualifying Degree before enrolling in Ph.D. program. Applicants have to enclose a DD for Rs. 500.00 (Five hundred only) for General candidates and Rs. 250.00 (Two hundred fifty only) for SC/ST/OBC/PH drawn in favor of IIIT, Allahabad or may be paid in cash along with the application. Filled Ph.D. applications will be processed in compliance with Govt. of India’s reservation policy for candidates coming under either of the categories: SC/ST/OBC/PH. The candidates are thus being requested to submit the application with documentary evidence of such category.Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email for the interview.

Masters Programme

1. M.Tech in Bioinformatics

The admission to M.Tech program will be made through CCMT. All the aspirants’ candidates interested in pursuing M.Tech program are advised to visit CCMT website for further details.

2. Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D Dual Degree program in Bioinformatics

IIIT Allahabad is looking for bright and dedicated young scholars interested in research to join us as M.Tech. Ph.D. dual degree scholars. Prospective students satisfying the eligibility criteria are encouraged to acquaint themselves with the research areas of our faculty members for suitable match of interest. The admission to Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D dual degree program will be made through CCMT. All the aspirants’ candidates interested in pursuing Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D program are advised to visit CCMT website for further details.

3. B. Tech. – M.Tech. [5 Years] (Information Technology) in Bioinformatics

Admissions under JEE (Main): Admissions to the four year B.Tech. Program in both the branches (IT & ECE) of the Institute is made through All India Entrance Examination by appropriate bodies, as decided by Govt. of India from time to time. Official Notification of this examination is given wide publicity through national dailies during September-December every year. Application forms-cum-Brochure are made available throughout the country. Please visit portal that is being maintained by CBSE.

Admissions under DASA :The admissions of foreign nationals and Indian students studying abroad to undergraduate Engineering programs in Centrally Funded Institutions (CFIs) is being done under DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) scheme from the academic session 2001-02 onwards. The academic eligibility criteria for candidates seeking admission under DASA scheme for the academic year 2013-14, is same as last years (i.e DASA 2012-13). Candidates who have secured 60% aggregate marks or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point grade or equivalent grades in all subjects of qualifying examination i.e. senior secondary [10+2] or equivalent and have a valid SAT Subject Test (earlier known as SAT II) score (in subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics level –II) with a minimum score of 1440 are eligible. Those seeking admission under DASA scheme have to apply online, filling an online application form.
